PS - i just realized that the CEL/SES writeup was mine! No custom title? Boooo...lol.
Sorry, I'm really bored at work...
I'm not sure why there is no write up on changing oil.

Although the link describes the oil change on a G35 it pretty much applies to any vehicle.
Look in the owners manual for the location of the jack points underneath the vehicle. Our 2009 Altima is only a couple of weeks old so no oil changes have been done yet. The wife drives very few miles so it will probably only get done twice a year whereas I have changed the oil 27 times on my G35 as I put on 2k miles a month
Anyway acquire the following 3-4 ton hydraulic jackramps, jack standsa plastic container to hold the waste oil, plastic funnelsa creeper to roll under the vehicleA set of sockets, 3/8 & 1/2' drive an oil filter cap wrenchoil filter from dealer(keep receipts)some rags and paper towelsI purchase 5w-30 oil where ever it is on sale
I use an old plastic shower curtain under the vehicle which makes it easy to wipe up any spills and I have a small bag of kitty litter just in case.
The dealer wants $40 at Infiniti so $40 X 27 oil changes has saved me $1080.00 thus far. Additional savings adds up from rotating tires every other oil change and replacing air and cabin filters.
Jack up vehicle & place ramp under each front wheel
Remove the fiberboard shroud from underneath the vehicle
The oil drain plug on the Infiniti takes a 14mm 1/2 drive socket. It may be the same on an Altima but with a set of sockets it doesn't matter. Just use the correct socket to loosen the drain plug with the socket wrench and let the oil drain out into a funnel into you plastic container. Open the oil cap on top of the engine before removing the drain plug.
Remove old oil filter using cap wrench
dip finger into a full qt of new oil to lubricate the rubber seal on the new oil filter. Wipe around the metal once the old oil filter has been removed to be sure everything is clean prior to screwing on the new oil filter. Tighten as hard as you can by hand and then use the cap wrench to tighten another 1/8 of a turn.
Replace drain plug and washer by hand and then tighten with the socket wrench just enough so the plug cannot loosen by itself.
Add the new oil as specified in the owners manual.
Prior to replacing the fiberboard shroud, start the vehicle, get out, look underneath to be sure there are no leaks around the oil filter or the drain plug.
Shut off engine, replace fiberboard shroud, remove vehicle from ramps and check oil on dip stick. It should show at the F mark
You are done and go grab a beer
