It might be running rich all around from a bad coolant temp sensor or bad FPR. Combusting coolant causes white smoke, and running rich causes sooty exhaust, yes. But if there's a LOT of gas, the car will belch white smoke--gas fog. The thinned/overfilled oil and exhaust smell are evidence. Have you overheated recently? Is there any plug that is wet with gas? I don't think the car can run that rich on its own, where gas is pooling in the oil. Is the engine running on 3 cylinders or fewer? Any cylinder that's missing is most likely the one flooding. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH IT! You're at risk of hydrolocking if gas is pooling in a cylinder, then there's the whole explosion thing. Plus oil pressure and lubrication are diminished, and everything's wearing hard with it running like that, especially the bad cylinder. No oil on the cylinder walls.Unless you can smell burning coolant, my money's still on way too rich. There is a quick test that a shop can do that will detect the presence of exhaust gas in the coolant. (Speaking of which, any bubbles under the radiator cap?) Another test is a fuel rail leakdown test. It will tell you right away if there's a bigarse injector leak.
