So. My 97 has developed a strange noise that I know will be difficult to diagnose but I thought I'd give it a shot. It sounds EXACTLY like a bad wheel bearing (4X4 tire roar) and it feels like a bad wheel bearing. In right hand turns the noise is pronounced and is felt through the floorboard. The noise has existed now for 20,000 miles and has not gotten much worse since I first noticed it. I ran over a brick/anvil with my right front wheel (bending wheel/blowing tire) a while back and the noise then appeared in the left front.I've replaced almost the entire front suspension, replaced the front left wheel bearing ($125 for the part!!) had three sets of wheels and tires on the car and it does not change. The only original part of the suspension is the lower control arm and inner tie rods. The noise seems to be most apparent when the wheel is turned about 20-30 degrees to the right.
Any ideas, I would have bet my life it was a wheel bearing or tire noise but...
