first off this is my first post but i have been living in forums for the last month searching and browsing til 3-4 am. So if someone could just help me out that would be awesome!

ok so not to long ago i picked up a s14 with a rb25det that i traded for my sr20det s13 the engine is in putting in new head studs and gaskets now along with a greddy timing belt

as it came

stock block (for now)turbo manifold prob ebayisis intake manifoldfpr38 mm wastegategreddy bov3 inch IC pipingstock maf3 inch turbo back straight pipestainless turbo and clutch linehuge front mount mishomoto radiatorupgraded clutch and flywheel (not sure brand or spec will be taking off soonstrut bars and sway barst70 turbo oil pressure gaugewater temp gaugeboost gauge

parts i have ordered and are on the way 800 cc injectors side feeddual 12 fans flex liteeibach sport springsaem widebandboost controller (manual)

ok so here is the situation i have come to i need to get tuned obviously and i have a friend that can tune anything.

since the rb25det ecu does not support nistune i wold have to buy a z32 ecu repin 5 or 6 wires and purchase the z32 nistune setup which is going to run around 650 total installed and tuned. and i would have to purchase the z32 maf with this setup.

or i can pick up a emanage that someone is selling for 100 and the harness for 180 and get the map sensor for 50

now i am not going for a track or strip car just a fun weekend driver with 350 to 425 at the wheels.

so nistune for $700 with the mafor emanage with the map sensor for $330

any help would be great

So you're going to spend all that $$$$ on those parts then cheap out on a tune???? Are you serious? That's how you get your reliability and the performance you want. Parts aren't s*** without a proper tune and management system. Get on Nistune and stop bein a baby about it

Don't feel dumb man. And don't worry about repinning the 3 wires (i believe that's what it is) it's simple and straight forward. As far as nistune, I personally love it. and It was on my SR. It was awesome. I can't wait to do it on my RB.

ya i am excited now i just need to figure out which ecu to buy exactly does the rb harness plug into the z32 ecu? i would expect it would since i read only a few wires need to be repinned i think a few of them are even just cut if i read correctly.

i know nistune is cheaper than pfc and nistune is a daughter board and still uses the stock ecu and a laptop

PFC allows you to check every aspect of your engine, and give you extensive amounts of data. You also get that nifty controller and some other stuff. It is a stand alone system that MOST people do not need unless they are trying to achieve crazy numbers, strictly track their vehicle or are anal retentive about monitoring their engines health.

Nistune has been found to be good up to 600+rwhp. There are very few people who actually need this amount of power. Therefore making nistune a more cost effective way to tune. It also allows you to tune via a laptop and monitor your vehicle's vitals and etc. For the novice to advanced tuner this usually covers all their bases.

As for the ecu any 91-93 NA or TT 300ZX ecu will work. Correct me if I am wrong.

They are nice if you can afford them. but pretty much overkill unless you track it. Plus I prefer a nice clean "stock" look haha.
