This is my situation. There is a 1988 Audi Quattro waiting for me when i turn 16, BUT its in really bad shape. and the Odommeter wasnt working when we got it 3 years ago (it was my brothers 1st car too) and it read 170,000 when it stoped, and so im betting its well past 250,000. it still runs but needs so much work i dont want to deal with it. so i was just going to drive the Audi till it broke down completely.

So when the car breaks down i will hopefully have a better job then makin 5.85 at kroger and makin some real money. and hopefull i will have vlose to 2 grand in the bank. now im relizing im going to have to make my parents take out a car loan so i can get a decent loan. Now the only way my parents will be willing to do this loan is if i get a car that is safe and not somthing thats going to get me in trouble, but of course i want a sports car. so what kind of car is like a sporty coupe for $5,000 besides a 240sx bc that is already one of the possibilites. what are your suggestions?

well i hope it does keep me threw winter. but the thing needs over $2000 in work on it and that money i would rather put towards a newer, nicer car.

well, maximas are cheap and wide open to the aftermarket. They have a lot of potential, but they are a sedan, you wanted a coupe.

Integras are good value and fun to drive, but they're fwd, and people tend to hate on FWD. People also tend to hate on Honda.

what price range do you have?

somthing under 5 grand.

i like the 240sx because i can get a good s13 for less than 3 grand and it seems that they are not that hard to work on a reliable car.

i think i will stick with the 240sx
