need help convincing mom to buy a nissan

ok, a lil background info: my mom, in 1998, bought a 96 lincoln continental. since then, both bumpers have gone to **** (need paint), the rear r.s. door needs body work and the car is riddled with small dings (theyre big, but you have to be looking for them to see em kinda) and the air suspension has gone to ****, also a broken motormount. sooooooo...my mom wants to trade it in for something *new and big*. by the time she's trades in, the body should be good, but susp/engine will need work, which will allow for a $6k trade in (with luck) she wants to get the current model lincoln continental (2002). but im trying to talk her into an 03 altima 3.5. ive basically argued all the technical stuff (engine size, interior sizes, how niiiiiice it is) but i dont think shes gonna go for it...on that alone. what can i tell her to make her seriously consider the alty as her next car?

cliffnotes: moms trading in her 96 continental. she wants a 2002 conti, i want her to get an 03 alti. how can i convince her?

350z = too much $ (the alty would be maxing out teh $$) and "too small"

You're barking up the wrong tree, pup. Sounds like mama wants to be coddled, and the Alty ain't gonna do. Turn mama on to some of the cars in the Conti's price class, like an I35, a Maxima, or a G35 sedan.

Show her the thread about Infiniti being ranked #2 in Customer Satifaction (JDPower, 2003), and reference Ford's dismal financial status (see latest Road&Track - I think). Finally, reference Initial Depreciation charts for that car, and see if she's willing to piss away 28% of the purchase price just driving that POS off the lot.

Hell, if she's that hot for a Lincoln, at least nudge her towards the LS!

lmao. i didnt want to look at it this way, but your semi-right. the reason her current car is so ****ty, is cuz we suspect a front end colision (open the hood...see 2 diff colors:squint) but i think if i can some how talk (con?) her into it, im good to go! also, the LS, "just isnt her style"

my mom is too damn picky, but she does like the looks of the alty:ylsuper. so ill keep researching, hopefully ill find something good:D

Lincolns are absolute junk IMO. I know it doesn't really matter because your mom will probably be like most parents and not listen to their kids input on matters like this, but try to convince her about all the wonderful technology put into the new nissans (and infinitis) to make her ride much more comfortable and safe. Matter of fact, get her the book for the 2k3/2k4 altima. And go over it with her...in detail.

just let her know that in the latest jd powers results that nissan?infiniti ranked 2nd best in amount of repairs needed in the first year of driving and that lincoln is somewhere towards the bottom!! sell her on quality!!!

have you ever driven in one doing 85, for a 300 mile trip? OMG its like riding on air (well duh, but...) the suspension on these things are ****ing perfect, **** caddy.
