Hello everyone, I am new here and need some help figuring out what clutch master cylinder i need to get. My pickup is a 82 720d 2wd diesel, and the master cylinders on ebay all say like 2.2L , 2.4L or some other ones too. I have no clue what to get, i looked in the owners manual, but couldn't come up with anything and i am not very mechanically inclined so i really need some help!

there were 2 diesel engines used in the 720... one was the SD22 which i believe is what you have based on the year... and then there's the SD25 which i think didn't come into play until '83

if i'm right on this you'll need the one for the SD22... now the other thing that i'm not sure about is whether or not it matters which one you get... i'm not too sure about any diesel stuff but most of the parts were the same between different models

The year and model makes no difference. What matters is matching the master and slave cylinder. If the master is a 13/16" then the slave should be 13/16" and not 3/4".

ok thanks, pezi720 youre right it is a sd22 i did find that out today, so if i get a master cylinder that says 81,82,83 Datsun D720 2.2L Clutch master cylinder, that should work right?

well i'm not 100% sure... because there was a 2.2L gas engine as well

as flinterman said... as long as both match you're good... so its best to measure up your slave beforehand to be sure
