Hi,

I just bought a 2007 M35 base (my 4th Infiniti), and I have some questions related to the audio system that I can't get definitive answers to when I search:

* The base radio does not have a SAT button. I don't have satellite installed. But is this base radio still WIRED for SAT, and is that wire in the trunk? Exactly where is it, and what's the best way to access it?

* If the base radio IS wired for SAT and I hook up that unit, then how do I access the SAT channels? I'm assuming it would show up as I scroll through the RADIO button?

* If the base radio is NOT wired for SAT, then it looks like the iSimple adaptor is my only option if I want integration into my stock radio, correct?

* I plan to upgrade to a factory NAV setup, which includes the NAV control panel and a SAT button. If my base radio is wired for SAT, then of course the SAT button will work once I hook up the factory NAV unit. But if the base radio is NOT wired for SAT and I use the iSimple instead, then will the SAT button control this after-market unit?

Thanks! Any tips specific to the base radio that have worked for others is greatly appreciated!

If by SAT you mean sirius/xm then yes, it is wired. I have a base 2006 m35 and although I never hooked up the SAT, its there. It is not in the trunk, I believe the module sits right under the cd deck, which would be right under the control panel. Once connected, when you cycle through the radio options, one of them will be SAT.

Hey guys
New owner of 2006 m35 here. I've been reading up about audio upgrade and didn't want to make a new thread but decided to resurface an older one. My setup is 14 speaker bose with Nav/DVD/XM SAT/AUX RCA. So after reading through and having intention on keeping things as simple/stock as possible I am planning on doing the following, please comment and criticize (nicely please :D)

1) Front Tweets - Infinity 1021t from what I gather THE most crucial update
2) Front doors - Infinity 6032si
3) Back doors - leaving it alone for now
4) Subwoofer - disconnect the old one, remove it (but keep the hole opened/grilled up?). I'm going with Rockfod Fosgate shallow loaded enclosure R2S-1X10
4.1) Subwoofer powered by Rockford Fosgate R250X1 Monoblock
5) Bass reconstructor - do I really need one? And if I do will Soundstream BX-20Z work (seems like I have to not use/remove bass control knob)
6) Fatmat the whole freaking car - too much road noise for such luxury car. Has anyone done it? WIll 50 sq ft be enough?
7) Not sure about which wiring kit to get, if I need a capacitor (or more powerful battery? though it shouldn't be that much power used) or other accessories to make this setup work?
8) Can of worms - after all the reading still can't decide on what to use for my android or usb flash drive, thinking just using AUX for now, maybe quality of sound will become so much better that it'll be ok?

Pretty much I want it to be elegant and affordable, so far apprx ~$500 in parts. Any help is appreciated! Happy to be a new member of M35 community.

Peace

Hi there,

Anyone wants to chip in? Or maybe anyone has an audio guy to recommend in SF Bay area? I got some insane quote on sound deadening so want to make sure to shop around. Probably going to end up doing myself. Where can I get some extra door panel clips in case I break them?
