I had Infinity Kappas front and in the front doors, the rear speakers disconnected, an Audiobahn 10" sub with a Fosgate amp, and a JVC head unit and liked the sound.

I currently have the same setup in my Civic and like it. Granted, I listen to country, rock and classic rock, and I don't ride around with my bass turned to 10.

Alpine Type X components sound great. You will need to amp them though to get their full potential.Inf. Kappas are very good as well. I use them for my highs right now. Since you are not looking for an amp. I would say those are your best options as far as components go.

JL Audio has a bunch of different lines at every price point. Good speakers in general.

Hybrid Audio if you want the best!

What is your budget? Are you going to amplify them?

I have Infinity Kappa's and I am very pleased with the mids and highs they produce. My 2 cents.

Alpine or JL Audio. JL is the best IMO, the best quality sound I've ever heard. JL gets expensive but you really get what you pay for when it comes to their product. Alpine is very good as well especially for the price, can't go wrong with them.

1 more thing, Infinity is very good, the stock speakers in the Jeep Grand Cherokee I drive are infinitys. I can't complain at all about them besides the tweeters, blown. For a stock system that trucks got some bass too, good speakers. I've also used a 12" Infinity subwoofer too, I think they were 1250w? Not sure. Good sub though, nice deep quality bass.

sony makes terrible mobile audio equiptment IMO.

My grammy owns a Jeep Cherokee Laredo with Infinity all around...sounded beautiful until the tweeters and the 6x9's in the rear blew.

Exactly, the jeep I drive was bought with blown tweeters, I guess its just a jeep thing. I just disconnected them and the others all sound great, I think the truck is also equipped with a factory subwoofer in one of the trunk panels. Great system though.

if your looking for an inexpensive setup that still sounds good I would go with the phoenix gold rsd you could pick up two sets for about 120 or so and spend the rest on a nice amp, I"m running a set in my fronts with a set of alpine type-r woofers on the back deck with the alpine pdx100.4, it sounds pretty good to me.

Get powerbass if you want highs and cheap. My friend has it with some subs and it sounds pretty good.

Alpine or JL audio...either one of those will work out, both are pretty damn good.

Except I have always gone with pioneer though hehe .
