my 240 sx has been very reliable until now that heated a couple of times, and when i opened the hood i noticed a hose was throwing out coolant, i foud out it was the heater hose which is like inside the engine, almost imposible to change without disassemblying the whole engine.

Anyway i don't have money right now to take it to a mechanic or the dealer. So i'm just asking for help on what could be the right way of changing it and if i really need to change it, or if there's any other way to avoid the problem and solve the issue.

If anyone could help me, i really appreciate it and the hose is only 10 bucks so that won't be a problem. Thanks already

do you mean the hole that is hooked up to the valve cover, or the upper radiator hose? neither run inside the engine...Infact there are no hoses "inside" the engine at all...

I think he means the coolant bypass hose. It's tough to change on the SOHC but it can be done by removing the power steering pump to gain access. I am not sure of the exact steps for the DOHC but you can probably get to it a bit easier if you remove some of the hoses on the front. I think I used a long extension to loosen the clamps.

It can be done. Take your time.

Oh.................... and search

Pull the intake manifold. Before you do that though, make sure you get oem parts for that. Don't run around like a chicken for a hose that'll fit for a pita to change part.

Just did this on my 90 sohc ..what a pita,.... I removed the power steering pump that covers mine but dont see it in your pic... but remove the radiator hose in front of the bypass hosefrom the Tstat housing and look through the intake and see if you can get to the clamp on rear of bypass hose either through or beside intake... Advance auto parts here had the hose in stock was $9 ... labor was about 45 minutes and dont forget to bleed the air out of the system(search) before you do any major driving after the job or you will get some overheating possibly. lmk if this helps
