For the past few months my cd player has not worked in my car. I have an aftermarket Kenwood, that has had no problems until now. It has the face plate that folds back into the car when it is off, and now it will not flip back inside the car to hide itself, and it will not work. While im driving down the road the cd player will start moving like it is going to flip back inside the car but then stops and goes back, and every now and then the radio will turn on for like a minute then turn back off. I cant tell if this is an electrical problem or if my girlfriend hit a curb too hard and knocked something lose. She told me ran over a curb taking a turn and it hit kind of hard, but the stereo worked for like a week after that.

its got to be a loose connection behind the radio. pull it out and check your cennections. if you did not solder/crimp the connections, maybe you should now. your problem most likely lies in the red, yellow, or black wires.

I have that same radio in my car, and it has failed on me 2 times now, it will just flip back and not come back, or it will flip forwards, no buttons will work, you cant eject or anything. I suggest that next time it starts working, see if all the functions work. if not, then its probably the radio itself, kenwood had a lot of problems with it (thats why they dont make it anymore), or, if you cant wait that long, just take it out and see if the wires are all good, it only takes like 10 minutes. good luck
