im gonna go with either:

1) air in the system 2) blown headgasket

check for mixture of coolant and oil and visa-versa

please tell me your not going by the OEM gauge thats on the cluster, that **** fails way too much. Do yourself a favor and get a aftermarket gauge to tell you exactly what temp.

the gauge your looking at tends to give false readings and fail.

If you can get a aftermarket water temp gauge it'll let you know exactly how hot.

and I'm telling you that stock gauge tends to give false readings. their have been literally hundreds of cases where the gauge said its cool when the motor was overheating, I've seen the damn thing point to the moon when the coolant was fine. The point being DONT EVEN PAY ATTENTION TO THAT PIECE OF ****. Get a aftermarket gauge with NUMBERS. cause shoot you could be going up to 195 when the thermostat opens and cools the engine drastically quick down to 180 which could cause what your seeing.

NOW Do you get it?

I give up dude Im telling you that the gauge itself CAN BE FAULTY causing the fluctuations.

Also, you have a KA24E. This is NOT the section you need to be posting in. I know we are nice and helpful here, but this really needs to be posted in the KA forum.

It sounds like your gauge sucks, Ive had them go bad, my friend had one go bad on his Xterra, my friend had a maxima and his went bad. Just don't trust the stock temperature gauge dude.
