the car keeps overheating after i drive for 5-10 min and it runs rough. i bought the car and all it needed was an alternator and it started right up drove it home and it was fine. the drive was like 30 miles. when i got it home i replaced the distributor, wires ,plugs. it ran alot smoother than before but it still bogged down at abot 2000 to 3000 rpm then it started overheating so i replaced the thermostat but it still overheats. im going to replace the radiator this week. but i would like to know what it could be.

My overheating problem was just air in the system. Try bleeding your coolant lines and see if it changes anything.

explain how it runs rough..also any smoking? ..let us know when you replace the radiator and if that solved the problem..dont forget you have to open the system when putting fluid in or else you will have an air bubble and still be overheating...because of an air bubble

Im having the exact same problem first with the overheating but i found the faulty hose that was letting air into the system. So no overheating but the bogging and hesitating in the same range 2-3k sometimes little sometimes it sounds like its gonna shut down but after that its strong like its perfect. What could be the prob? its got new plugs and wires.. is it fuel filter or...? give me some ideas . Im gonna do fuel filter cap and rotor soon i guess anyway. its a 91 ka and ive seen other posts asking about hesistation and bogging in the same area but no real leads yet..

thanks for yer time

my car is doing the same thing, i bought wires, plugs, fuel filter after i dropped the new engine in it, and it only has 70k, when i put the new engine in i put a new clutch, radiator, of course all fluids, and its only been in for a week now, and i dont know what my problem is, i was thinking MAF or TPS

jfizzle the overheating problem and hesitating/no power/bogging could be 2 different problems..the overheating you may have an air bubble in your system...the other problems..check your tps voltage first..spark plug gap..and hows your timing?
