Today on the freeway my car suddenly loses most power to engine and cannot exceed 57mph. Car was fine off the freeway till I got home and when I tried to start it up again some unusual activity seemed to be going on.Turns out I have a bad distributor cap and the rotor inside. Go to autozone get supplies come back and still she trembles. So now I need help before I go buy a 90 dollar fuel injector because spark plugs are fine, spark plug wires are fine, I also added some additive to clean the injectors and she still rumbles shift stick is vibrating like crazy don't get no dirty ideas but has anyone been through this. Im afraid to drive it dont want to do any major damage if not already. Plz Help!

Most like bad injector. Pull out spark plug wires one by one and see which cylinder is not firing. It's it's #1, car vibrates real bad. Bad injector usually stops working when engine is hot.

already did that found the bad spark but thought it could be distributor but that wasnt it so your assuring i did the right thing then it must be the injector I had a feeling but I needed some extra assurance it the only plug that when I pulled it out it didn't alter the idling so I guess thats the fuel injector getting replaced tomorrow.

Try unplugging the MAF while the engine is running. It should stall out. Be real careful in cleaning it. Also with the EGR. My old 240 had this problem but turned out to be a vacuum leak. Such a pain in the a** to find it too.

vacuum leak+uber off timing+ 3rd and 4th cylinder not firing made my car shake like a crackhead with withdrawals.Bad timing wouldnt kick in randomly on the freeway so vacuum leak or missfiring cylinders. Even if your spark plugs look good just replace them with NGK's it only cost a few bucks and they fire up real nice.

Something similar to that happened to me. I was on the turnpike doing about 85 at 4k rpms when all of the sudden the car basically died out, slowly went back down to 3k and then came back to life. Weirdest s*** ever. Any advice on this? Didn't mean to thread jack.
