I'm pretty new to the nissan world. I bought a 300zx last year and I loved it but I wanted something with more horsepower so i've been checking ebay and craigslist in my region of the country and i found a 1995 240sx with a rb25det engine. Here's what it says in the post.

Engine was assembled and tuned this march by PSIProformance, It made 418 whp at 17 psi. Tuned conservatively as its intention was to be a time attack car. builds full boost around 3700 and pulls hard to 8000. Engine was heat cycled and broken-in on the dyno at PSIpro. Over $7000 invested in the engine alone

Head:
Kelford cams
HKS adjustable cam gears
Supertech spring/retainer kit

Block:
Eagle Rods
Wiseco Pistons
Cosworth main bearings
Cosworth Rod bearings
Greddy oil pump
Tomei oil galley restrictors
Raw brokerage extended crank collar
Cometic head gasket
ARP head studs

Now would this car be able to handle 700rwhp or no? The reason why I say 700hp is because some people on here have said 700rwhp is possible on stock internals but others have said it's too much.

So can i handle 700rwhp, and if so how much more could i push it.

with a large enough turbo i dont see why not, blocks and cranks should be fine at that power level... i dont think very many people have actually done 700whp with the rb25 block and head, but its disadvantages over the rb26 arent really that big.. cylinder head flows simular but isn't as upgradable compared to 26, and the 2mm's of stroke difference i cant see being the the deal breaker..

Id say go for it, im currently going for 7-750whp or so with and rb25 block mated to 26 head.. should have some results some time in the coming months

Thanks a lot for the help! I got hold of the guy who owns the car and he said that the turbo he has on it would only handle 500. So I guess I'm going to get the car and upgrade the turbo.

500hp is retarded in a s chassis...its all dynoqueen numbers from 350 out.

hard to get power down effectively, one way or another you'll be spinning tires.

just personal opinion really...350 is more than enough to have fun in a s chassis.

yeah to each there own, i hook 400whp in 2nd gear all day on street tires... 1st gear hooks fine as well with boost by gear setup.. slicks or drag radials will do wonders for me when i get to 700

I put down 430whp in my rb25 (fully built) and It was NOT enough for my to have the fun I wanted. I think when people lower their s chassis the camber becomes to negative to get a good amount of the tire on the ground. I could tell a difference by doing my own alignment.
