First off, there is a LOT of information in the top couple of threads in this section that are stickied.

Second, that is a small budget for that kind of build. Do you have any suspension, brake or driveline modifications to your car as well? Because 400 wheel horsepower is an awful lot in an S-chassis.

Does this budget include building you motor as well? Because things are likely to start breaking down at this kind of power level.

I don't mean to scare you away from turbocharging your KA, as it is a lot of fun and can sound very simple, but it is quite an undertaking.

I am looking for another ka to rebuild so my goal is to build it to handle 400hp but im not going to push it to that limit... i heard stock internals is the way to go.... do u suggest stock pistons and rods or CP piston Eagle rods.... Does Wiseco make piston for kat.... What is the sure route with pistions and rods?? What is the max horsepower and psi of boost can a rebuilt kat handle around?

These questions have been answered a hundred times in this forum.

Of course if you're already replacing things in your motor, it is going to be a better idea to go with forged internals over replacing with OEM. Built KA-Ts have been up to 700-800+ rwhp, and 500+ on stock internals with seriously good tunes. This will not be that reliable for 99% of the people out there though.

The max PSI and HP that a built KA-T can handle is dependent on a lot of variables. What parts were used, how well it was built, the tune being used, the injectors, the type of turbo, hell even the temps outside.
