HI,

I am doing the brake swap ....let me straight to the point........

Do we have any kind of sealant or something that can help me out in this situation....The z32 caliper screw thread.......are gone.......I don't know what did the previous owner has done ....I think he might have put a larger bolt or something in there.......now the thread is almost gone.......I tried to put the brake line in there.....and the brake fluid was leaking......of course......the thread is almost gone....how the small amount of thread can hold a big pressure of the brake fluid....!!!!!!

Do you think I need to take the caliper to the machine shop and have them make redo the thread or what?

Help me please....

^^^ some kinda nice guy eh?

I’ve seen a sleeve that you can weld inside a bolt hole but I’ve only seen it done with steel, if your running the aluminum calipers you may need to find a shop that welds aluminum and have them fill it in solid, then drill it back out and thread the hole with the same size thread as your break line. Its patchy I know; but it may be your only choice. Unless you find break lines that have a larger diameter thread on the caliper side, and will still fit the other end as well. Good luck, hope this helps.

if you're doing the z-brake job, none of those conversion lines are DOT approved to begin with so you shouldn't worry about "oh noes, this is totally not safe." Get it to a machinist and tell them to redo the threads to another size and to make a new brake line that will have that size fitting.

Do you think that I can redo the thread?

I asked my friend which he works at as a machanic....he told me that there is no way to fix this caliper. He told me that the machine shop might be able to redo the thread....but it will be even harder to find the brake line that has both two ends in different sizes....

But, now I am not so sure since a lot of people told me that I can redo the thread.....

So anybody who are a machanic ...please give me some advices .......I live in So CAL ......if someone can help please do so...

like I said, you'll need to make a brake line.

I made custom hydraulic lines in Arkansas for tractors. First get a bigger fitting to screw into the caliper. Have them weld for that. Then get a stock end connector and your new one, and have them pressed onto the end of a SS line...
