I'm looking to purchase a Z car from a fellow in Las Vegas who originally got the car from Bob Aller of "The Z Shop" in Las Vegas, NV. I need to find out some information on the history of the vehicle and need to get in touch with Mr. Aller. Unfortunately, he has retired and closed up shop and the only phone number I could find on him was apparently an old shop number that has since been disconnected since he closed up shop. If anyone knows an email address or phone number or anything for Mr. Aller, I would deeply appreciate it being emailed to me at [email protected]. If you do no feel comfortable giving me his contact info, if you could please inform him of my dilemma and have him contact me, that would be acceptable as well. Any help is greatly appreciated on this matter.

Thanks!Michael [email protected]

Can you get in contact with him through the current owner?

Check with the ZCCA for Z clubs in the area where the shop was. He may still be active in the Z world.

Good Luck!

What are the details on the car you are looking at?

Current owner has no contact info for him.

I tried the local Z message board and contacted the president. I've also posted on every forum I could find, and exhausted all other means of contacts and searching. Still came up with nothing

The car is a 1982 280zx turbo, 5sp, ttops, lots of interior restoration, new fuel delivery stuff (minus injectors), new wheels/tires, new springs/shocks, new paint. The car looks good in the pictures. However, the odometer reads 120k and Carfax reports 270k. This appears to have happened with the previous owner, and the current owner was not even aware of it. Current owner did run a compression test for me and results came back 130ish on all 6 cylinders, which doesn't seem likely if the motor had 270k miles without at least a rebuild. The car is everything I've been looking for and I've talked him into $3500 but I'm hesitant to drop the $$ to fly over there and then drive the car back 2000 miles. Any thoughts?

Yeah 2K miles os a bunch to drive a car you don't know.

The price sounds good though.

See if you can get it shipped to you. I think the price to ship ma car is about $500~$600?

Might be worth it?

Well yeah but then I'm getting the car shipped to me sight unseen other than pictures. I guess I could fly out there, look at it, then ship it back if I like it...but I don't really have that kind of money to blow, heh.

Sight unseen is hard to do.

I don't really recomend anyone to do that unless they get lots of pics and really trust the seller.

Sounds like a great car and I hope that you can work something out.

There have got to be some Nioco members who live in Las Vegas and might be able to take a look?

Thanks, Fred. I thought of that, just not sure how to go about asking. No real regional forums here that I can find (correct me if I'm wrong) and I didn't want to just start PMing everyone that lives in Vegas. Any ideas?

Thanks!Michael
