So I removed my ECM to read an error code to sort out my check engine light. Upon first turning the dial to mode II and then turning it back to Mode I, the car refused to turn over. I can hear the clutch relay click when I hit the sensor, but the car for some reason doesn't turn over. I need to figure this out fast considering it's my only transportation. Any ideas are appreciated.

Need to clear this up. When you say wont turn over do you mean the starter is not turning the motor or do you mean the engine turns over but doesnt start? Screwing with the ECM wouldnt effect starter operation.

Did you ever figure out why your car wouldnt crank? I have a 1990 300zx and it is doing the same thing, the engine wont turn over when you turn the key. I was hoping you could help me

What do you mean, you removed the ECM! The ECM must not be unplugged to read codes; it needs power to do so.

If you did remove it, you may not have seated it properly upon attempted installation.

on the 240 you need to remove the mount screws and turn it around to use the self diag screw. I was thinking this is what he meant by removing it.
