Start of, i am doing my first KA rebuild and I've noticed that after i get the check valve from Nissan. That i still have a huge chunk still left in my block. Seriously am like f*ck, am really hoping am not screwed and have to take everything of and re-time everything. So i was wondering if there was a trick to pulling the check valve out of the filter housing or could you run with the check valve hollowed out basically like a oil channel?
why i ask: i did a relocation on my Supra mk3 and the check valve was spring loaded like the Ka but since we did a relocation you deleted that piece and put in a sandwich plate and run an inline thermostatic valve. I was wondering if you could do the same or does the check valve have to be there for proper lubrication purposes?
Please help: needing to drop this motor in and this is holding me back.
