97 GXE. Car started flickering panel indicator lights, and shutting off when I hit brakes and any kind of power load was applied.

Replaced battery and fix terminal wires, and car is dead. Not even the interior lights show signs of life. There is absolutely no ticking, clicking, lights, nothing....

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Alternator which means it drained the battery and you will need a jump and you will probably make it only about 5 miles

Thanks for the input, but it cant be the alternator cause I bought a brand new battery and still don't have not even the dome light to come up.

have you checked for any codes, how about all the fuses and relays?

both the ones under the hood and under the dash by the drivers side left knee

**UPDATE**

Reinstalled new battery and lights came up... What's up with that. ECU resetting itself ?

No sign of life yesterday with 2 batteries and 18 hours later all good ??? confused

Also I checked for codes since power came back and all I got is a 0505(nothing)

**UPDATE**

Car died again. No electrical power whatsoever... any ideas ?

It sounds like a short to me. I would take it to a shop bro.

Yeah you might be right... It looks to be a bad ground, but I don't know where the grounding points for this car are located.

This may sound dumb, but are you sure you installed the right battery?

They do come in "left" and "right" versions.

ok...so I followed the positive cable coming out from the battery. There are leads coming out; one goes to the starter motor, the other to the main fuse box.

there's power all the way to the starter, power all the way to the fuse box, but nothing past that point.

So I guess my main fuse box went bad. Any takes or ideas ?

most likely a relay or short. bad connection somewhere..start with the relays and work your way from there

I'd get a multimeter and starting check all of the leads in the fuse box. Could be a fusible link, fuse, or relay issue in the box.
