car is currently in the shop getting the ka-t done but i'm having problems with the manifold due to the t3/t04e with 4 bolt discharge hitting the brake cylinder. the shop said an adapter plate for the manifold will cost about $500cdn to design and machine. I'm looking for any solutions/suggestions on how to deal with this problem. my last resort is to dump the revhard and grab a JGS.

Please help! Thanks

Best bet would to probably get the jgs. It's either get new mani or new turbo. You have an on center turbo? That's the kind you need to clear... That's BS on the flange. One can be made from $50-100. Alhough they don't want to deal with it so you got another party wanting their cut, and it being only one order they charge double price.

I'm having the same problem, except I also have an auto transmission, so my brake booster is bigger. I've switched to a 5spd booster, but there's still a clearance issue. My next bet is to have the flange cut, angled and raised around 1/2". Pretty damn annoying considering a paid $650+ for the manifold (complete engineering). If there wasn't a delay with the JGS manifold when I was buying, I wouldn't have had this problem....Good luck!

I don't have the exact answer as I can only remember the jist of the info. Essentially, there are at least 2 versions of the T3 turbine housing. IIRC the differences are between Garrett and Turbonetics housings. One aligns the foot of the housing closer to the centerline. I can't remember which is which. Some searching on the net should find you some answers. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I had seen this info. If you can find a turbine housing that could be the solution, it'll probably be a cheaper solution at this point.

are you referring to an On Center Housing and a Tangential Housing.

s14noob - if you have not customized the Downpipe yet, I also suggest looking into an On-Center turbine housing turbo. it's commonly found in the straight t04b turbos. Supposedly they are slightly less efficient but Structure240sx made tons of power with it and it gives clearence like none other......

Nope. The T3 doesn't come in an on-center configuration. What I'm talking about is how far the inlet flange is from the centerline of the turbo. They are apparently slightly different and the one that had the flange closer in cleared nicely if I remember from the pics I had seen. I wish I could remember where I saw this info.

thanks for the help guys. i ended up going with a JGS manifold. when i bought the revhard i was misinformed as people were saying that it would clear a t3/t04e turbo no problem, but no one said it had to be a on-center turbo. As soon as my project is done i'll post up some pics.
