Need help ASAP!! with coilovers. Cant get it to tighten

i was trying to raise it up alittle because my tire is rubbing against the coilovers. when i was trying to tighten the driver side...the screw is as tight as it can get but the stop thingy is still loose and i can adjust it up and down. is something broken or something?! whats wrong with it.
