i found an abandoned mitsubishi 3000gt 94'. ran a vin check and hasn't been registered for almost 5 years and is not reported as stolen. i thought about taking it and trying to work on getting a new title in my name but then i figured i didn't need the car...all i want off it is the rims - 4 18' konig.

the car will get impounded sometime by the city but the wheels don't need to be on it, right? the problem i have is it doesn't have normal lug nuts but something that looks like a hex head. anyone know what size hex i will need?

Those hex heads are probably key holes for the lug. You will need the right type of socket to get them off. Its like security for your rims.

i dont know if you could do this without the title or bill of sale..but if you take the vin to either a lock smith or somewhere like that you can get a key cut for it. all they need is the vin. so then if you had that you could pull it into somewhere more private and take the rims! Free stuff is always good...especially rims!!

problem is no tags on the car and don't know if it runs. i just got off the phone with a cop asking if i can take the car and try to locate the last owner or get a bonded title but he didn't know. maybe i can find something searching from the title number...i might try to get the whole car. 225hp, 205 ft/lbs - a little better than my 95 max or 05 bonneville.
