i have a 93 hardbody with a ka24 and i recently redid the head and timing chain put all new oil pump, new head, ignition and cap rotor an wires when we put every thing back togeather i check the timing 4 to 5 time cuz it a real ***** to get that part right but the problam is after we got it back togeather she dont want to start. it gets spark on all 4 wires and gets fuel u can push start it but it idels real ruff and as soon as u hit the gas it dies. then u have to wait like 2 hours to restart it but like i said it idles real choppy and only idles for like 5 min then dies too or even when u give it gas she die. im open to any ideas right now im lost with this truck.

Recheck your chain marks you can check the crank pully against the marks on the front cover, on the cam you need to remove the valve cover and check its mark. Also did you properly clock the pump shaft before installing it in the cover? If you dont clock it correctly it will throw the distributor off since that shaft drives it to.

Could be disconnect it and see how it runs, It wont throttle up easy but it should run better if it is the maf.

a bad IAC will cause an erratic idle, possibly causing it to cut off. a bad TPS can screw up the signal to the computer. vacuum leaks can cause both at least from my experiences.
