NEED HELP ASAP

hey guys

i have a 1990 nissan 240 with rb20. Tried to start it today and all it did was click at me.

I noticed a clicking coming from the steering column or somewhere under the dash.

It has had trouble starting before but its never done this.....

HELP HELP

all lights and radio turn on and there is a mechanical whirr when i turn the key but nothing happens

any ideas????should i get it towed to the nearest import repair shop? good idea?

i'm a pizza delivery guy so this is absolutely killin me

sounds like you need to jump it.. probably getting some power out of the battery, but not enough amps to get the starter to turn it over.

Get another battery or some jumper cables and try it again.

your battery may just be old or your alternator is not charging your battery very well. the clicking you hear is probably just relays.

or it could be the starter and the clicking is coming from that

thanks for gettin back to me so fast

i barely have the money for a new battery, the car i bought about a week and a half ago and it checked out with my mechanic. as for money for a starter and labor i doubt i have it. how much would it be?

i'm hoping its the battery.

any other ideas?

what he said. Just try another battery, you don't have to buy one right away. If it's the alternator then get it rebuilt or you can fab a KA one on there. Mine cost $75 to rebuild.

Jumping doesn't cost money. My car did the same thing a few times when my battery was almost drained. fyi I've got a '90 with an RB20

or take the battery to most any parts store and they will charge and test it for free!!!
