I have a 240SX S13 (KA24DE) manual. It runs when cold but when it gets warmer it stutters and cant rev much (sounds like a rev limiter, bangs out of exhaust)..and after a moment it dies unless i let it cool down.I'm on a trip and willbe in the town im in now for 3 days and i need to fix it before that.I changed the spark plugs, no weird smoke coming from the exhaust.I cant find anything wrong with it myself.

How well does it run when it's cold?I would check vacuum lines, other then that, I would look into sensors that have to do with fuel delivery, because the backfiring I would think would have to do with fuel like liquid said. If you figure it out make sure you post it up for future reference in searches.

Could possibly be a marginal fuel pump. Electrical components such as that sometimes work ok when cold, but after they start to get hot begin to fail. If fuel pressure dropped it could make your engine sputter and run poorly.

It's the sensor in the distributor :/I happen to have a spare engine but it's from S14 so the distributor won't fit. Anyone happen to have a S13 DOHC KA distributor?
