need help asap please

so my problem is that my instrument panel went out on my 98 qx4. this occured while i was working on my after market headunit. i dont know the cause to the problem but checked the fuses by the steering wheel and on the left hand side under the hood.

!.) any clue as to the solution to my issue?

also if u guys are intrested i wanted to post pictures of my amp subs and headunit just not sure how to get them up

is the whole panel dead?

or just a few lights out, or a couple gauges not working?

the guages themselves work fine. the lights are out on the gauges and on the gear sselector. all the indicator lights work such as seat belt cruise and odometer. in the day time you would never know there is an issue. so i dont understand what the issue could be.

Maybe your illumination wire going into your head unit is being grounded? I would try disconnecting the entire wiring harness for the head unit and then see if any of the lights work then. Maybe the illumination wire is being grounded by the head unit case or something like that. Assuming you connected the illumination wire up to your head unit, if not, then I would find it and make sure it's not being ground by the chassis or another loose wire.

you could have also turned the illumination wheel all the way down and not have noticed, this is known to happen frequently to people on here

yea the wire was grounded i was able to fix it the following day and im proud to say i wasnt out smarted by that dial...haha i would have been on yesterday but i was busy customizing my amp

i like the deck fits just lovely, the style of the box perfecto mando, and the subs, only thing i don't like is u lol the height of the box it looks like it might interfere with ur truck lid it looks close

Power Acoustic components eh, that must have cost you! lookin good! the first pic isnt working, is that ur HU? id like to see. I'm moving to another town soon, if theft is lower in the new area maybe ill upgrade someday

the hu is the power acoustik ptid-7350nr since u say the pic isnt working. but yeah man coming from you that means alot becasue i like the way you have your q setup. as with anything cost can be cut if you take your time and researc before purchasing
