ok info on my car 91 240sx manual trans with 93 240sx motor in it. ok the problem is, is that it misfires almost all the time. when i am driving it lacks crazy power. It is the 3rd cylinder that is mising. I did a compression check 180psi across all 4 cylinders. I replaced plugs and wires. I replaced the distributor. I replaced fuel filter, fpr, tested all the injectors. used injector cleaner. also egr is not stuck open. replaced the o2 sensor as well. It is my daily driver and i really need to fix it becasue its so annoying. please help.

Have you checked the ECU for codes?

the only code is knock sensor. And my guess is becuase its misfiring.

clean your maf. and a really stupid one, could your catalytic converter be clogged/blocked??

the knock sensor corrects misfiring... the ecu is thorwing the code because the knock sensor isnt working right... try to see if its cracked or melted or something... and try to find one off a KA that works to see if that the problem... thats my guess... and check your timing

i thought knock sensors only detect knocking. I cant check timing either because i have an unstable idle. but as far as the distrbutor goes its dead on. one tooth up it wont start one tooth down it runs like total garbage.

yes it does detect knocking, then it makes adjustments so the knocking stops... even though the distributor teeth are right, u still have some play by loosening the bolts and twisting it... to the left retard timing, to the right advances.... and there is a lot of play in adjusting this... so u could be way off but be at the right tooth...

i timed using consult2 and a light and at 20btdc it runs like garbage still. is it possible that a leaking injector could be the problem?

well tonight i replaced the entire fuel rail with one off one of my spare motors. runs great now no missing. so it must have been either a clogged or leaking injector. thanks for your help

air deficiency possibly...how old are ur hoses...

might have a crack or tear that is only visible during reving

might be lossing air at a certain point???

(nobie aswell)
