Ok i will satrt with car1995 240 sx se 5 speed Jus got in a new head

Well the prob we have may be time-n or not.We put the head on and left the number one piston top dead.Based on what we got out the manual we aligned the cams and sprocket accourding.Well when we spin the main pully after half rotation we get locked up.We look at the cams and notice that the exaust intake valves are open at the same time.We was thinking cams are located in wronge place but i look at another with the vav,e cover off and noticed that green was intake and orange was exaust. On the timing we aligned the middle sprocket mark at the correct postion (book says about 2 oclock or so.then aligned the cams at 11 and 1 oclock.Well trying to align the intake after the exaust is when we noticed that the cam was locking on something like the valves were hitting pistion.Well we spun the block and had the 2 and 3 pistion on top and again valves hit so now were stomped . My main question is what would be the best guess on the prob? 2 end would be do i have the colors correct on the cams? And last does any one have a better photo of where the marks are suposed to be and at what piont are they there?

If any one has a online manual with better photos or so i can get would be nice.or soem one with there valve cover off would be some help too.

Thx email any thing to [email protected] Scott

what you want to do is line up the plated links on the t-chain with the dots on the sprockets. then it does not matter where stuff is pointed.
