First off, please do not tell me to search. I am far away from home and have been given 15 minutes to use the computer. I have a 1991 240, and a couple of questions.

I had to repair some drift damage, and have convinced the girl that I need new shocks and wheels. Money is not an issue for this project.

First, you need to know that I have installed Tokico HP and Tein S-Tech.

I have decided on FN01 wheels in bronze. I am somewhat certain I want 17x7 with 215/45 in front. With my setup, what is the correct offset. Can I use 17x8, and what width would you suggest? 225/40? Also, if I use the 8 in wide wheel, will there be clearence with my stock fender for now? I am considering a S13 Silvia conversion this spring. Will I need to roll the fender, and exactly what does that entail on my car?I the rear, I have chosen 17x8 with 235/40. But, I wish to know if a 9 or 10 is possible as well. I will not be home for 3 more weeks because of my job. You can post any opinions you wish, but I am doing it for equal parts handling and pimp factor. What are the right offsets for each choice, and what will I have to do to make it fit? What size tire should I run for each wheel?

I know some of you will say that I am jumping on the wagon with the FN01, but they are good looking, strong, lightweight wheels. Bronze also will look good with my proposed color scheme. I had to buy my girl some wheels for her car before I could get mine, but it is okay. I really appreciate the help I get on Nico and will continue using this site.

17x9 17x10 will fit fine. are you 4 or 5 lug. if 4 lug, 17x9 +20 will fit with a roll, if 5 lug, 17x9 +15 17x10 +25 or 12 will fit with a pull. with 8" just get the lowest offset possible there will be little to no clearance issues.

Okay, if I go with 17x8 in front, and 17x9 in back, what tire size do you recommend? 225/40 in front and 245/40 in back? Also, how can I roll the rear fender without damaging it. Please explain, because this is new to me. I would like to order my wheels on Tuesday.

Mad props to Options Auto Salon!!!!!!!!!! Best service and very competitive pricing.

tire sizes sound fine. all rolling a fender means is to push the fender lip (piece of metal that sticks out off the edge of the fender) up and away from the tire. tap it up with a hammer, or put a baseball bat/jack handle/ long round object between the tire and the fender, hold it at an angle where it puts pressure on the fender, slowly roll it back and forth, progressivley pushing the fender lip up. there is another way to do it if you get coilovers also.

also you can take the front fenders off the car and put them on a soft flat surface and hammer the lip completly flat against the fender

run a 45 sidewall instead of a 40

you didnt mention if you were 5 lug, but if so with fn's i think you can get 17x8 +25 front and 17x9 +35 rear, run that with a 225/45/17 front, 245/45/17 rear

if youre 4 lug i dont know what to say, i think your choices are something like 17x7 +25, 17x8 +35, and 17x9 +20

My thread should answer almost all your questions.

zerothread?id=157921

Btw, I dont think you can get 17x7 +25, only +35 in 4 lug.

It is 4 lug. So 17x8 and 225/45-17 WILL fit in front with only a simple roll?

And 17x9 with 245/45-17 WILL fit in rear with only roll?

If we have all agreed, let's pick some offsets for sure. I can put about any wheel I want on my Mustang, but my good car baffles me!

Now, since my car goes to the frame shop Tuesday for frame aligning and reinstallation of Tokico and Tein, what specs should I use?

I was thinking -1 in front and -1.5 or 2 in back. Will this cause terrible tire wear, and how much if any will it improve handling? I only put 500 miles a month on my car because of my job. Most of these miles are very spirited backroad trips where ultimate bang for buck is far superior to tire life. But I would like to get at least 7500 miles out of a new set.

that camber will cause almost zero wear. BMWs come stock with more camber than that. if you only want 7500 miles out of a new set of tires you can run 11 degrees of camber. seriously camber does NOT wear tires out. TOE ****s up tires WAYYYY faster.

also on wheel fitment specs - you guys gotta post more than just diameter and width

diameterwidthoffsettire sizetire brand, model (yes tires vary in width from the same size)alignment (gj on posting camber, most of the time i just see, "i want 17s, will they fit on 240?)obviously the car (s13 s14)

if you run the fn's with a 17x8 / 17x9, youll have +35 front and rear, and with a 215/45/17 235/40/17 this is what it will look like, from a thread below:

Thanks for all the help. I will get the 8 and 9 combo. I originally thought that 215/45 and 235/40 would be perfect, and Jasper at Options told me it was right. I only wonder about the 215 on a 8 inch wheel. I told the shop I want -2 in back, with stock toe setting.

Now that my car will be fixed, I have no more excuses to spend money on it. My better half told me that to get a conversion, I had to sell something. Funny, as she works part-time and makes less than 25% of what I make. She got her stupid ICW wheels for her Civic, but she won't let me play.

On the matter of the Civic, I tried to get her to trade it for my cousin's Sentra, with no luck.

Chris I'm pretty sure you mean FN's with 17x8 front and 17x9 rear he'll have +35 front and +35 rear, not +35 all around. No 17x9 4 lug in +35

Mind sharing the "chart" with me sometime? It would be nice to have something like that.
