Hey Everyone,

Thanks in advance for taking time to help me with this problem that started today and is driving me crazy. lol

Car has no real issues. Started it up today and it starting beeping and wouldn't stop. I stopped, turned it off and restarted and the beeping continued ...even when the care is off.

I removed the negative battery terminal to try and reset the computer, but once reconnected the beeping continued.

As of now it has been sitting in my driveway beeping away while not running for a few hours and Im at a loss as to how to stop it.

When running the car works fine, no problems and no new warning lights or anything.

QUESTIONS:

Does anyone have an idea of what this could be and advice on how to fix?

Is there a way to disable the beeping?

I appreciate your time and look forward to your response

Not sure what your gremlin is, but after googling Infiniti beeping noise, an FX site had some suggestions/theories:

aftermarket electronics?
faulty door/trunk switch: does it continue to beep after all doors are locked?
faulty key fob: place key fob in dash slot or try changing key fob battery
reminder that there is a DVD in your player

does your car battery check out ok? our cars do some strange things when the battery gets weak

good luck with finding out the problem and let us know if you figure it out...

Not sure if this will definately find the situation, but pull all your fuses. My theory is if you cut the power to whatever is causing the fault, the beeping will stop and you'll have a better idea on where to start looking.

Also jumping in to try and help to locate the issue, I assume it is your horn beeping, right? Can you pinpoint which of the 2 horns is beeping - near the front driver wheel well, or right at the hood latch?

Or is the beeping coming from inside the car?
If you could record the sound, that would be of great help.

My '07 M45 started doing this to me when I installed my stereo. It was my gear-shift lever position sensor. I would be in Park but the car wouldn't recognize that, so I unplugged it and plugged it back in again and it luckily worked. It was a different tone of beep than the door-lock tone.
