:gapteeth: hey everyone. i need help or advice on my 2001 infiniti QX4 it has 244,000 miles all freeway.I bought the QX4 3 years ago and is still very reliable. then i got the engine light on check code P0505. i know its the The IAC (Idle Air Control) valve controls the idle speed on rpm stay under 800.when it goes under 500 rpm the a/c stop working.it works perfect when its at 850 rpm. sometime when driving and i come to a stop the rpm goes under 500 rpm when i make a turn, it shut off.sound like there no air passing through. i turn the key and start right up and it still runs strong. i drove it like this for a year with the engine light on and still same issue low air when i drive on street. runs perfect and smooth when on freeway. i know it will cost $170 for the IAC. also need a smog. the body is clean no dents, good paint jet black, and the inside is in very good clean condition.no rust.all power works. only issue is the IAV. so my question to anybody that owns a qx4. what price will you put it on craiglist if i want it to sell it? I cant and dont have time to fix it or work on it. any advice will help. thank you

Well if you go by KBB pricing, the vehicle would probably be valued around $1000 as it sits.

Maybe $1500 if you repair the IACV.

I agree with 04pathse -- maybe 1500 fixed ... if you are lucky .. and the car is clean. 244k is a lot of miles

It's a ticking time bomb with that flaky IACV in there.
It's just a matter of time before it fries the ECM.
If that happens, you'll be paying a lot more than just $170 for a new IACV.
Bite the bullet and replace it before you have bigger issues.

thanks for the reply. this qx4 i have is in excellent condition no rip or tears on any of the leather seats, original Bose Stereo power antenna still works, i know it has high miles all highway miles. i heard and read on blogs on these qx4 engine the 3.5 L (3,498 cc) VQ35DE can last over 300 ,000 miles. and i always have it service. i am the second owner with clean title. no leaks on engine and transmission., i read here about the ECM with IACV to replace both of them. i know the ECM i can get it fix for $249. if i did it my self replacing the parts and get it in the shop for the idle relearn i would save money. i like the qx4 its a very reliable Infiniti QX4 . i hate it just sitting there. i guess i will keep it. i hope i have time if not i will sell it and someone else will fix it or used it for good parts.thanks again everyone for the fast reply
