I just got my motor back together and it ran for a couple of minutes just fine then it started missing. I've checked for spark and fuel i have even changed the coil packs and injectors. The motor has okay compression but not real great. What should i check next? Please help!!!

well compression has nothing to do with a misfire if you have no spark on that cylinder.

Check your ignitor by doing a search on here about ignitors, i think you check one of the middle pins with all the pins on the other side for continuity. I heard of these going bad due to lack of good ground, and frying up a cylinder output.

Also go over your harness to make sure there is no shaved, and grounded wire that might have gotten caught.

Make sure the ecm connector is not corroded and is tightened well to the ECU.

Go over all your grounds and make sure they are good, and check to see if you skipped any (i.e. back of the head).

When you say it ran fine for a couple of minutes then started misfiring, i am taking it that its a dead miss? or is random?

it appears that i do have spark do you think that it is still my ignitor? And cyl. #2 never fires anymore. I can unplug the coil pack and there is no change in how it runs. Thanks again for your help so far.

i would have to say its your injectors then.

Try taking the plug off the injector (while motor is off) and taking a multimeter, put the setting on ohms, and put it across the 2 prongs on that cylinder. If it reads ~11 then your good, if not then its a bad injector. Check all of them and let me know

re-check all grounds also (behind the head) if you say you have spark then thats not the issue with the ignitor.

Well i just had a brain storm and figured out what my problem is! When i put the cams back in i put the little washers that sit on top of the valves on the wrong way and one of them broke and the thing that sits on top of it that the cam rides on fell off and therefor the exhaust side of cyl. # 2 was not opening. Do you know if i can get new little washers? Maybe from the us sr20de? Thanks

They're shims for the rocker arm. You can get them from the SR20DE. The one that broke is a rocker arm guide.
