ok so like i said i just finished my KA-t project, everything runs great but now my only problem is that it overheats.

i was turboed before with the same set up and never overheated.

i replaced radiator hoses and put in a new thermostat.

the only thing that has really changed is that i ran coolant lines from the throttle body to the turbo.

the car does not over heat at idle. i can drive for like a mile going 35mph and it wont over heat, but as soon as i rev to like 4k and go to 4th gear it starts to over heat.

while i was working on my build my radiator was sitting outside for like a month, could it have rusted inside and gotten messed up??

water pump maybe??

help lol thanks!

will post pics once i get this sorted out.

Perhaps an air bubble is still in your system?Try burping it again.

You got air in your system. If thats the case, you can tell when you drive around and the needle on the gauge actually fluctuates and keeps going up and down. It doesnt raise steady.

+1 /\ /\

that air bubble will have you pulling your hair out, it needs some patting(bleed screw open, driven up an incline) and then a big burp and you are done.

bleed bleed bleed, it takes a while sometimes for that air bubble to get out, also run heater on full blast.

Make sure to have your car on an incline, it helps when burping out the air bubbles.

Air in the system, it plagued me for a few weeks until I jacked the car up in the front and stuck a funnel in the radiator neck.

Kept adding, revving engine, turning it off when it overheated ( autometer gauge, NOT stock gauge which is useless), drove it til it over heated, and so on and so forth until I finally got all the air out!

All in all, I ended up adding about a quart of extra coolant, after all the air was out, so a Quart of air in the system!!!

If for some reason bleeding all the air doesnt help i would be looking at the radiator having some corrosion in it and need to be relaced. I bought a toyota tacoma for $500.00 cause it had the same problem you are describing. the guy replaced the thermostate water pump ect. but didnt think about the radiator lol. hope this helps ! good luck.

Just jack the front end a little or put it on jack stands and start the car. Keep monitoring the water level in the rad and fill as required. Using this method I have never had over heating issues.
