Hi, on my 97 qx4 there are quite a few burnt out bulbs in the radio, climate controls, and other places. I did see the thread on a guide for LED replacement bulbs but I don't really want to go that route. So If somebody knows of a place to find what kind of bulb goes where that would be great! Thanks

The bulb sizing and interior LED conversion details thread has all of the incandescent bulb sizes too, not just LED. The climate control and dash bulbs are pretty straightforward to replace once you have the replacements, but the stereo may be a challenge. I would think all of its lighting is LED. Worst comes to worst, you can just buy a replacement on eBay.

Oh, I see now. One more thing tho, on that page the lights for the automatic climate control are listed on a website for led bulbs. I looked on there and didn't find a specific size for the incandescent. Also, the bulbs for the 4WD indicator and cigarette lighter don't work. I pulled those out and they don't seem to match up with others. The 4WD light was soldered into its screw base. Finally, should the dimmer switch and back glass release switches light up? Thanks for all your help.

If you have the climate controls like these, it looks like you have 5 bulbs to replace. The 12v microlamps from RadioShack should be the perfect size for those as well. The old bulbs unwind from the base.

and I take it your 4WD switch light looks like this:

I don't know what's up with that. I've never seen that before. Can you snip the leads and solder your own bulbs on?

It's possible you can get them from the dealership. It's also possible that you can use other re-wirable sockets from other parts of the car if they're the same type. If that's the case you could find some used ones. The only other alternative I can think of is to buy LEDs instead ;)

For the cigarette lighter, I have no idea even what kind of bulb it is. If it's not the socket type like the others, try bringing it to an auto parts store to find a match.

As far as the switches, you'd have to pull them apart to see. You might also be able to tell by looking really closely at the white lettering. Mine had some small rectangular rubber pieces inside that the bulbs were wound around, like the plastic bases. The 12v microlamps should fit the bill there too.

Yeah everything looks like that. I have been taking things apart to look. Not as hard as I orig. thought it would be. Thanks for all your help. I did snip the leads and you might be able to. Id have to look again.
