The LH headlamp extension panel on my 2013 Murano is broken and the grill needs to be removed for the panel replacement. I've removed the push fasteners and the threaded plastic fasteners and removed the radiator cover. It's not so intuitive from here. I've searched this site and the web with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have a look at this youtube video, it's for the 1st gen Murano but the steps are similar and it gives you an idea of how to remove the grill. Good luck.

Many thanks for replying.

You are probably aware of some of the differences between the Generation 1 and Generation 2 Murano. The grill is one of those differences. And there may even be grill fastener differences within the Gen 2 models.

I was frustrated with the 2013 grill removal process because I could find no information on the exact location of the fasteners on the grill itself. I decided to take the Murano to a local body shop and let them install the headlamp extension panel. If I remember correctly, there are four clips on both the right side and left side of the grill, and the shop guy told me that you have to be careful when disengaging the grill clips because if any are broken, then more than likely the grill has to be replaced.

He had specific tools which helped him to remove the grill, and even with those tools, it was a “challenging” job to remove the grill. I guestimate that it took the guy about 20-30 minutes to remove the grill. BTW – I have kicked myself in the butt for not remembering to take a video of him removing the grill (with old age, memory is the second thing to go).

I had already purchased the new extension panel, so to remove the damaged one and install the new one, the body shop charged 26 bucks – a really good price. I’m pretty sure that if I tried to remove the grill, when it was all said and done, I would have bought a new grill....
