Actually that is what most aftermarket trim wood pieces use.
There is a previous post by Jason Burtman about how to remove and readhere this type of trim.
My advice is this:
If it is coming off somewhat cleanly, then carefully remove it and clean the dash of any left over adhesive. If you wnat to put it back on, then get the 3M doulble sided sticky tape and cut it out to fit the cleaned backside of the wood piece first. Then pull the protective tape off and apply to the cleaned dash surface.
I personally don't really like the fit of my upper dash piece (slight buble above the uinstrument cluster) and will probably remove it in the future, leaving the lower and console like the later Presidents, but without the LCD screen.
