HOORAY! Mountain twisties and exotic cars. THAT is what NFS is supposed to be. None of this stupid parking garages and city freeways in cars I can afford but don't WANT. Hopefully it's as good as Hot Pursuit...or better yet, High Stakes (my favorite NFS title).

I'm soooo glad they're bringing this back. THIS is what NFS is supposed to be about. I can't wait for this, it's been a while since I've played a good arcade racer.

From the trailer, it looks to be the same as all the other terrible NFS games in recent years. I loved Hot Pursuit. From what I have seen, it's not living up to what it could be.

I'm hoping for the best though. It just worries me that Criterion is developing it. I don't want big crashes every 2 seconds like in Burnout.

Plus, the handling looks like it's that same terrible system found in the series since Most Wanted.

^ I dunno man, the trailer looks just like the intro movie of Hot Pursuit 2 and that game was loads of fun. Seems like Criterion is taking NFS back to its good old day.

sweet! I can't wait. (for it to go on sale) looks really fun though! NFS was always an arcade racer, there will always be a space on my game shelf for arcade racers. :yesnod

I think the reason why so many loved hot pursuit was because it never mattered how fast you were in this one, it mattered how smart you were.
and that it gave you the option to fight from two different sides.
awesome

NFS:HP is still my favorite NFS game. I still play it!!

EA has completely lost its mind with its latest slew of horrible crap they've put out. Hopefully they stop their self-ownage and make good racing games again.

Actually, what made the earlier NFS games great was that they were NOT "racing" games. They were DRIVING games. What EA needs to do is make another good DRIVING game. Porsche Unleashed was the last NFS driving game. Every NFS since then has been a racing game.

When I think back on the hours I dumped into High Stakes...none of it was in race mode. It was all just joyriding through the mountain twisties, playing Hot Pursuit mode, or playing LAN games where we'd try and push the damage modelling as far as it would go.

I don't want a racing game. I want a collection of exotic cars and spectacular mountain roads to drive them on.

Hot Pusuit was and still is my favorite NFS game. I had to watch the trailer twice and I admit I got all tingly when they showed the up close shots of the Veyron cop car. I was like no way.... :D I'm pumped. We used to play for hours at my friends house. We would take turns as the cop and chase. If you won you got to hold your spot. I was cop for 9 rounds in my Caprice Classic once. :) I can't wait.

It was also the best...

Well, at least it was my favourite. Loved so much about that game. After that it was downhill...Hot Pursuit 2 had that damned rubber band pursuit where it didn't matter how much of a lead you had on an AI car it would still close on you even if your speeds were similar. Ugh.

I did enjoy Most Wanted for the Xbox & 360 but I'd really like NFS to get back to its roots: plenty of alternate routes, weather, changes in light level and a MONSTER SIZED SANDBOX.

I hope this one doesn't disappoint, they've really been failing lately. Although i've been happy with NFS: Shift, i'd like to see NFS get back to it's roots. As said above, I want a driving game.

I have to agree that NFS Hot Pursuit was my favorite game as a kid for my playstation. Not hot pursuit 2 but the original, with the corvette and lambo cops. It was always the biggest rush trying to complete a race without getting pulled over. Real excited to see what happens with the new one.

Also on my buy list ^_^.
NFS shift was ok....the AI was too inconsistant though...1vs1 if you lead they basically tail gate you and it's challenging enough, but if they lead, they become
mario andretti, wtf? I've been driving the exact same car as the ai in a straight away and the lead car will straight up dust me -.-

at first I was hyped to play the game and it was fun at first, but after playing the demo more, especially when you play as a cop, I noticed physics were out of wack. successfully taking out a racer meant ramming them with full nitrous on either side swiping or from behind. it would be nice for a car to lose control after a pit maneuver at 130+ mph. but this is only a game. the crash scenes were ok, glass shatters everywhere and the car crumples. the roads and scenery were nicely done and the cars in the demo were detailed very nice, but when racing and taking a turn it was too easy to go into a drift especially when I didn't want to. I hope the full game is better although I'd hate to buy it and be disappointed.

Guys, it's not meant to be a simulator of any kind. It's purely arcade.

Not really...

...because of this. ^^^

Controls on old school PC NFS games were far better. These developers could tear up an anvil with a toothpick.
