Even with the splash tray removed it's tough to get to, especially with my paws and stumpy fingers.
As an alternative- lay on your side in the snow and with thick leather gloves on try removing the the wavy-looking plastic insert next to the fog lens. Behind it you'll see screw(s) to remove which will allow you to take out the whole fog lamp assembly back into your warm home (and clean it up while it's out). Look at it carefully with a flashlight before you start to make sure you're removing the correct screws. You don't want to touch the one(s) that adjust the beam direction.
Once you have the assembly in hand changing the bulb is easy. The learning curve is now on your side. Do them both and upgrade to SilverStars. The second fog lamp assembly will only take you 10 minutes to remove and reinstall. Good luck.
ok, that's how it thought it was suppose to be done. but the screws are stripping when i turn a screwdriver in them, i think they're rusted in. i looked at the car on monday, and took it home on tuesday one week a couple days before we got a foot of snow, and i knew it was coming so i parked my 300zx, and bought this for winter. so i don't care about rust or anything. any other way at getting at the bulb without taking them out?
they have silverstar equivelents in them now, but one's burnt out, go fiqure
