will ya'll help an ignorant key billy with some advice on things i might visually look for on my ''new to me'' 1996 Q45t? i'm a pretty good diy,er as i kept my 82 mbz 380sec alive for many a mile. also toured mexico, belize&guatamala in 1980 280z. not braggin but can be resourceful. i know to look down the oil fill for cleanliness, check tran fluid for smell, taste & color. coolant for same. check strut boots. check driveway for leaks. what else mite other forum members suggest? i like surounding my self with people who know more than i. i have no hands on experience with thes autos but very excited to learn. most of maintainence will be done by me, there are no infinti tech in the fl. keys that i'm aware of. if ther are other members here i would like to hear from your experiences to.will buy on sat. nov. 5th if inspection goes well.thanks to all

Welcome in to our club, but I think our nearest members are in Dade.

Anyway, be sure to read the post on buying a G50, and get the Infiniti dealer performed service history.

Other than that, read all you can here, expecially posts by Q45tech. The good thing about the 1996 is that it is OBD II, so you can hook it up almost anywhere and see if there are any codes.

Just be very observant about goofy noises and things.. inspect the suspension, bounce each corner, they should be very little bouncing...

If youve read the suspension and some basic posts here, youll be fine.

Welcome and let me be the first to say,... Fly me down there and put me up in a nice hotel for a week and I'll check out your Q for you as I have much DIY knowledge from working on the Q! I'll go over everything you'll need to know and all you need to keep your eye on.

Read, read, read... this forum and the infiniti mech forum as well. You'll find that it's a good idea to search for things before asking alot of question or you may get reminded to do so, but if you have questions about what your read then ask away......

ps,... you put me up for a week and I'll come up with some food for us... It's the least I could do..
