Need engine help on 86 720

Ok i have done tons of searching and cant find anything related to engine swaps in my 86 720 pickup. I have a bad motor and local junk yard wants $500 for used replacment one, and being a former s13 guy I can get a ka24 for less. so I was wondering if anybody can help me with any information on what it takes to swap a ka24e or De into a 720 pickup. the only thing I have been told is that the motor mounts dont bolt up. in information is helpfull

I cant for the life of me believe they don't bolt up. The z24 has the same block mount positions as the KA and it also is identical dimensionally. I have personally seen a 720 4x4 with a KA sitting in it with stock engine mounts and a 4x4 ka pan. I have heard the same thing though about it not bolting up, I just dont know where the miss info comes from. Heck the KA24e in my 620 bolted right in and the trucks frame is skinnier than yours. peace.
