I'm looking for a toggle lever and an extension link (also known as a strut on some years) for a 1980 Datsun. They are both in the brake drum and actuate the parking/emergency brake. They fit the 80-83 pickups. It's unavailable through the major part stores in my area. I found an 80' at the junk yard but no axle/drums/tires. So I got the toggle lever and extension link off of an 84'? or 85'? but the extension link is too long. A friend suggesting cutting the extension link shorter but I don't know the specifications and would hate to go through trial and error on that one. I see that 86' and on have an extension link (strut) that has an adjuster. Not sure if that would work. Comments, advice? Any would be appreciated.

There is an '83 in the local junkyard here. Get me a picture of what you need. Please be very specific and describe exactly what you need and I will try to help you.

I also like ice hockey (saw your avatar). Both of my kids play, one in college and the other travel hockey! Who'd have thought they'd get into hockey here in SC. :chuckle:

:werd: You the man Piez. The best thing may be to get the complete set up from an 85 or 86 and change out.

I played soccer and badmington. :naughty:
