I am getting ready to start making ECU's for my self and any members that would like them.

I first wanted to make a "NICO Q ECU" or a "Q45.org ECU" but got no bites.

So it looks like the they will be "1qckser ECU's" (base) and GreenQ45a's (Active) ECU's.

I need a stock EEPROM images from a 1994 ACTIVE Q45a's ECU I also need a modded EEPROM ECU from the same car.

One member of NICO steped up for help (1qckser) and he has 2 ECU from a standard Q one JUN and JWT

So I will be coping his EEPROMS for him and adjusting the copies to his tastes. I beleave he wanted his Rev limit changed on his JUN.

So I will.

I'm debating if we should just FLASH the ECU in the car or add a socketed EEPROM holder on a daughterboard.

I will be starting a EEPROM Image data base for all our old Infiniti'sStarting with my Active Q.

If any one has a ECU sitting on a shelf for any year Q let me know (it will be returned).People that help\donate with the project will be reciving a free ECU upgrade.

I do not want to just copy JWT and JUN ECU's I want to compair the modded imagez to the Stock imagez and see what else can done.

Thanks for any help..

Green, my 2 ECUs are already socketed, and I have a stock chip also, I will email you so we can talk, I like having the socketed setup, it lets me change very quickly using my chip puller, I can however send you one of the spare ECUs also. One more member QSHIP whom lives very close to me has a 90 ECU coming also, and has a socketed setup as well and is willing to help out.

Thanks looks like we got a good start.

The 90-93 should be interchangeable The 94-95 should be interchangeable The 96-96 still needed (no VVT ) The 97-01 still needed

Could we add VVT to a 1996 through just EEPROM flashing?

So we have the stock EEPROMs for Gen 1-B's (94-95) ACTSUS and Standard taken care of just need the modded ones now.

We have Stock and Modded EEPROMs for Gen 1-A's (90-93) Standard\Base.

Still need a Stock & Modded ACTSUS Gen 1-A's EEPROMs

Could we add VVT to a 1996 through just EEPROM flashing? or did nissan remove all traces?

Even with out modded imagez we should be fine.

I don't think you can go passed 2001 with only ECU EEPROM's flashing.Don't they have a different CPU for just valve timing?

All traces im sure, the actuators for the cams are not present on the front of the engine in front of the valve covers.

Green.. They dont make chip upgrade for the 97 AFAIK... So really we only need to worry about 90-95...

Plus the tuning in the OBDII cars is a little less safe since OBDII can react quicker than old OBDI... Probably why we see more HP out of same displacement engines than we used to (coupled with less friction)...

I bet an active Q45 ECU would work in a 90-93 from a 94.. In fact, Id wonder how a 9093 ECU would react in a 94...

So you are saying that you would make available a cheaper version to the JWT chip. I would love to see how this unfolds. Please keep us posted on pricing or whatever!!

Green..... Do you think itd be possible to crack into the active part so you could modify the ride height and stuff??

No the ACTSUS is controlled by two 16 bit ECU in the rear of the car. that is why I need the wire harness for the ASE664 AirSUS\ACTSUS controller I got form Miniman he got a Toyota Soarer UZZ31 Harness with the unit it CANNOT be modded for the Q45a\HG50\PHG50

THe ASE664 has LowLow,super high, 3 custom height. This is the only unit that will control ride hight based on speed . some of the others have better displays.

Ill take Dynamic Speed\Height control over a better LCD.

Wes you gave me a link to the Rinkya and I set up an account with them. I read there disclaimers and there are not responsible for anything I was wondering if you have used them personally.

BTW I was referring to modifing the G sensors and stuff, so that you can limit body roll, and other things of that nature.....

Rinkya is a trustworthy company...

My bad Wes I thought you meant the "Ride Height" I guess you meant G, Pitch, Roll and so on with the "Stuff" part.

All the Active Calculations are done by the 2 16bit Active ECU's in the trunk.

We need someone that can plow through JP Forum and Tech sites if we want to change those type of dynamics.

Not enough HG50's sold here and a lot of people Convert them rather than troubleshoot them. Even the techs at the dealers don't even know where to put the Type A-Active Suspension fluid. (speaking of my local techs @ Garcia Infiniti of Albuquerque.)

Most techs just say you gotta replace the "whole system" and scare them into a convo

The Engine ECU's in the Active\TCS Q45 differ because the Active pumps pull 3%-6% of the HP the the Fuel\Air mixture maps are slightly different and the VVT starts @3000 RPM not 3250RPM like a Base or "t" models.

From my understanding....that is..

I have a 92 Standard with TCS Non-calironia ECU. How long would the turn around be?

Wouldn't activating the VVT at a lower RPM give a little "boost" in HP on none active Qs?

BTW, I was thinking about flashing my own ECU also.

Is there a Diasnostic port on the 89-94 Q45s? If so, is it like most OBDII cars, where the port allows two-way communication? Meaning, you could just plug into the diagnostic port and flash the ECU.

PMQ

Thank you for offering you ECU to the master index of Q45 ROMs.

I have ordered several new EEPROM Diag tools as well as some EEPROM sockets. I would like to order the black EEPROMs but I need specs on the EEPROM itself.

As far as the turnaround date ?NO ETA untill project is fully underway.

Once I have a good data base build up only 2 DAYS one day installing sockets or "Stock Flashing" and one day (24Hours) burn-in.

I will be able to reflash the EEPROMS same day once modded.

I will need to build up a quick index of imagez.

I will then input all of them into a program my friend is working on than will allow custom tuning to key attributes like VVT, Redline, Injector size and others.

I plan to give three EEPROM's with the kits:

1) Stock EEPROM untouched 2) Custom modded EEPROM Hi-Perf3) Return backup*

(*can be sent back for a new custom image so theres no down time)

I need a ECU any year that can be used for scrap\prototyping it does not matter if it's dead or not.

Would you be able to change the F.I. curve? And timing ?

Sorry if this is a really dumb question since I'm not entirely computer literate. Any progress? If so, what would you use for determining the best overall curves?I ask since the Q runs rich. Maybe there's some power in that there doohickey.Sign me ....Hopeful
