I just did the VLSD swap from a 96 j30 into my auto, non-ABS S14 (1997). My current driveshaft is too long and I need to replace it. I just called up my local junkyard here and they said that there were 4 different driveshafts made for the kouki...

My question is...can i get away with buying an ABS driveshaft regardless of year or transmission and just change out the part of the shaft from the center bearing to the differential?? OR are the driveshafts for the different years different lengths?

Please respond fast as winter is quickly approaching!!

I don't know if they are the same or different between s13 or s14 but it's a PITA to try and use to halfs. They may not be properly balanced and create a vibration. If they are the same I have an s13 auto abs driveshaft that I could sell(shipping won't be cheap as it's pretty heavy but I could let it go for cheap+shipping.

There is no way for the driveshaft to be balanced with the diff carrier obviously since they aren't from the same vehicle, but there has to be some level of conformity between 240SX driveshafts so that none of them vibrate.

My most pressing question is whether an ABS driveshaft (2nd tube) will work regardless of S14 year?
