Hello, if you're up to it, I need help shopping. 1995 240sx non-ABS, 5-speed OEM driveshaft assembly needed please.

My drive shaft (propeller shaft) has gone bad in the joints. I want to get a replacement drive shaft assembly. I found "Factory Nissan Parts" online and ordered it. 10 days later I checked status of my order and it was cancelled (no call, email or any sort of contact to let me know I should still be shopping for parts, so I'm frustrated with thier poor cust. service). Call to local stealership and they can't get it, not from anywhere in western USA and even bothered to explain why they don't waste time looking for parts they can't get easily. Even told me if my car was in their shop and needed a driveshaft, they'd have to return the car unrepaired. They all have the same price, about $605, but none can actually locate and sell one.

So, now I'm asking here.

Do you have one in a box in the basement or perhaps you work at a stealership and have a stash or perhaps you are an overstock warehouse, or anything?

As an alternative, has anyone had a shop successfully swap out the staked in u-joints for aftermarket and it was warrantied work (meaning they stand behind it 100%)? If so, what joints (brand and part number please) were used.

Not interested in 1-piece, it's against the rules to my knowledge (SCCA, ITS)

Thank you.

Welcome to owning a 20 year old car. It's not surprising that suppliers don't care, but it still sucks.

Here's what I could find.

20 Years Old?! I forget she's getting up there in years.

Hey, thank you guys. I appreciate your feedback. I made a lot of phone calls and spoke to several people, two dealerships in California, one in Georgia, one in Florida, one in Texas, local driveshaft rebuild shops (central coast, CA), and two aftermarket shops. Here's what I've found:
Dealerships (all of them in the USA) - no longer stock or can acquire the driveshaft assemblies
Local Shops (several in central CA) - do not rebuild staked in u-joint driveshafts, are uncomfortable standing behing their work when specific u-joint parts aren't documented as a precise fit, etc. basically don't want to do it. I'm okay with that, what with liability issues these days.
Shaftmasters and/ or Drive Shaft Shop - these guys only deal in "one-piece" drive shafts. They do not service, rebuild or stock any OEM drive shaft assemblies.

BUT! Thanks to some searching by TheMadScientist (love his avatar btw), I can get it! There is a place that is selling rebuilt ones, free shipping, cheaper than new OEM, and warrantied for a year from purchase. It's in the first link he provided me, at Wholesale Import Parts. I called today and they have it in stock at about $450 (vs $650 dealership price). I just need to call back to place the actual order.

Thanks all for your replies. I called each suggestion (and I did remember our sponsors, Texas was Courtesy Nissan btw). To TheMadScientist, I owe you a box of Acme explosive tennis balls!

I work at a dealership myself in parts. That shaft is indeed not available from any of my sources (37000-65F00). I would strongly suggest having drive shaft shop make one for you. It will most likely be less money than dealer and be much more durable and lighter.

Great! Glad you could find one. Old Japanese cars are harder to get stuff for than old musclecars. The aftermarket just isn't there.
