Gang, I'm looking to make a custom gallery page for AltimaCoupe.com. Instead of loading it with Nissan Corp stock photo's I'd like to do it of members cars. So, here is your chance to get a picture of your car on NICO's Altima page.

Rules:
- This won't go on indefinitely so get your pix in.
- Cars need to be customized to some level. More than just window tint.
- These should be more "staged" shots and not driveway pix, front of house, car show or shopping center. The car should be the focus and not just simply in the crowd
- HI-RES please. Don't send me images you have tried to edit yourself or re-sized. If your pix look bad to you then they will probably look bad to me :)

Whining:
- Not allowed. If your pic does not meet the above it will not be used. I may send back an email saying why but I may not as well. If you send it in I appreciate the effort regardless.

So, to the left are PM and email links under my cookie stealing bunnuh. You can send me a PM with links to your pix or you can email them to me as attachments. Send a few with different angles if you have that many modifications as I may make custom images out of them.

The minimum number of cars I will use is 16. Once I get 16 that are usable I will create the page and add others as they come in.

Gallery will look similar to this one: http://altimacoupe.com/altima-coupe-gallery.html

Thanks

I might take some more snaps if there's a financial incentive. Is there?

Sure, there's financial incentive. Right after you pay me for the time I volunteer to support the Altima community.

In reality this is to show off members rides and the work they have done. If your car is so much better than the others you may want to create your own site and charge people to see it?

No one charges visitors to view photos on their website, unless it's a p0rn site. Normally, web developers pay people to get the rights to use their photos on their website, or for whatever public/commercial purposes. A lot of websites generate a decent income from advertisements. If the photos are used to generate income through increased traffic, the owners of the content normally get a cut. If the photos are stolen, people sue.

The photos of my car are okay. They meet your requirements, but I'm not inclined to show it off, for the sake of showing it off. I understand that this is a community, but you don't have to be condescending about it.

There are plenty of people who make a living from photography and dozens of websites dedicated to stock photos. Its not unreasonable to ask for compensation. I might have donated the photos, just because I wouldn't mind supporting the community. I'm fully aware of the costs associated with running a website. But I'm far less inclined to do it, when you respond so rudely to a reasonable question.

Then don't submit your pictures. It's as easy as that. This opportunity isn't necessarily "supporting the community" but something I'm offering to spend my time doing to show off NICOclub owners cars. I make nothing off this site so ad revenue means nothing. My response may have been rude yet I felt your response concerning compensation was similar.

Most forums don't pay for pics. Look at nissanclub, cardomain, blah blah blah. I think it's a good tradeoff - this site provides free knowledge sharing and you can provide pics of your ride (if you decide to). And the knowledge is free because the fees to run and maintain servers and all that other stuff behind the scenes are covered by advertising and affiliate link revenue.

If NICO was selling auto parts and using the photos provided as marketing material, then it would be a totally different story.

If I had a tastefully modded coupe, I'd definitely send in a few pics.

^^^ +1

altimacoupe.com is supposed to be the representing portal for this forum. I thought it would be nice to have something setup showing members modified cars instead of Nissan publicity stills. The "financial incentive" line caught me quite by surprise and I'm sure I didn't react properly. It's all spilt milk now, time to move on.

Most people treat the internet as a buffet to take content from. You have a business to promote, but I don't. I don't feel like putting photos up of my car for anyone on the web to steal and use as their own. I'm not that eager to brag about my car. But you go right ahead.

Unless they steal the pic out of your sig.....I don't see a copyright on it. (I'm just messin with you)

Those who have sent pix I don't have enough for a dedicated gallery but will add some to the regular gallery at some point soon. Works been a killer.

I've added a section to the regular gallery since I received very little. Did I miss anyone who has good images? This is NOT limited to Altima Coupes either.

Sorry it took so long.

If it's a hot looking pic I can probably do something with it.
