can the guts from a JDM VLSD (6 bolt 4.36 GR) be swapped into my open diff using the open diff ring gear with the JDM shims and output shafts and retain the stock 4.08?

I don't know but have you tried the 4.36 gear before? It really wakes up a na motor. I think the VLSD carrier is the same as yours.

no i haven't tried it yet, but i have a turbo and with my open diff its a nice balance. I know the 4.36 would help out greatly with acceleration, but this is also my DD and I need some sort of gas mileage on the highway.

If its a R200V carrier, and 240's have a R200 stock, it should work right? The Q45, Z32, and J30 can all be swapped, so i'll probably just try the JDM one and see.

heres some info:

got the VLSD today, and when i put marks on the output shaft and to where the driveshaft bolts too, and turned the output shafts, the driveshaft "flange" rotated just barely over 4 times to the output shafts 1 (~4:1)

did any JDM S13 VLSD's have ABS, 4.08 GR, and 6 bolt output flanges?
