Need confirmation of VG30DE inside Z32 and Infiniti J30 | Also, Manual Swap?

Hi all. I have a 1993 Infiniti J30 with the VG30DE. Poor guy has 185k miles and is starting to knock. Other than that, the J has been great to me this past decade.

I love my J enough to keep it, and am looking to do a swap in it. I was thinking of looking for a used VG30DE, sending it out to be rebuilt, or just simply buying a reman VG30DE for my J30.

So my main question:Is the VG30DE in the 300Zs exactly the same as in the J30s?

Not that I am specifically looking for a Z VG30DE, but I'd like to know if I find one at a good deal, that I would be able to use it. As far as I know, both are exactly the same internally, but I don't know if the block is different externally in any way. I'm tempted to get a jspec front clip of the J30 with the Q45 engine, but I'm just not ready for that type of project at the moment.

And while I'm in the realm of replacing the engine, has anyone ever considered the possibility of swapping the auto transmission for a 5sp?

block is basically the same as z32 NA...also Jspec J30 w/V8 has a VH41 whereas Q45 has VH45...a manual swap is possible if you swap a Z32 NA manula motor in there...however im sure there is another way to convert to manual...as the Z32 guys how they would convert an auto to manual...im sure it might be same with slight differences
