If you know of any cheap/free performance upgrades for a '92 240sx w/ a KA24DE please reply. I just started this project and any time you could save would be appreciated. My final idea for the car is a street car with decent drift capabilities (by decent I mean being able to have some fun while being able to embarass all those rice civics).

i would say do all the general maintenence to it first... change all fluids, belts, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, seafoam the engine, youll notice more power especially if the car hasnt had a tune up in awhile

Maintenance first, then strip the interior - cheap, free.

Take out a/c, power steering, etc - cheap, free.

Advance timing - cheap, free... sort of, mileage will go down if you care at all.

Comfy? no. Practical? not really. Cheap & Free? yes.

$100? That's nuts!! I'd get a can of Restore oil additive from WalMart. It'll increase your compression and you'll feel the power.

ditch the clutch fan and wire in the electric fan.

ditch spare tire and jack, maybe everythign in the back of the car.

pilot strut bars. http://www.overnightautoparts.comworked good for me, only $60 for front and rear, free shipping on orders over $50

take off the airbox "y" tube

subframe spacers will probably make the rear feel a lot better in corners. you could spend like $80 and get awesome ones from http://www.splparts.com , or just home depot and get big washers, but the real ones are recomended.

ASP underdrive pulley is $119.95 from http://www.aspracing.com . some people say it's a bad idea, but it never gave me any problems. made my car faster.

All that general maint. has been taken care of plus a lil more. I went ahead and replaced all braking hardware incl. lines w/stainless plus new batt. that i'm relocating to the driver side while I switch the intake to pass. to give me a nice short ram aka. bad a** throttle response. What kind of luck have you guys had with the sea foam thing? Also, any other performance/cheapies, keep em coming!
